Eat spam and die!

I viewed the eclipse with neighbor Shirley Powell, her friend Austin Sanders, and neighbor Ellen Brown.
We were across the street from my house, in Ellen's field (between her driveway and Shirley's house).
Shirley had cups of Sparkling Grape Juice and Moon Pies for everyone!

"LOCATION"
We weren't exactly on the centerline, but close enough!

"FIRST CONTACT"
Projected view of the sun at the first noticable umbral contact.

"MY SETUP"
My Astroscan® 2000 telescope, a white ceramic tile leaning against our yard cart, and my comfy camp chair.

"PROJECTION"
Projecting the image of the sun onto the white tile to make the image safe-to-view and larger than it appears to the naked eye.

"CLOSEUP"
Closeup of the projected image on the tile.

"THE FIELD"
The field made a great location for watching the event!

"BOOM!"
Totality at mid-eclipse. Photo taken with my Samsung Galaxy NOTE 4 smartphone with zoom.

"VENUS"
The planet Venus was easily visible at mid-eclipse!

"THROUGH THE LEAVES"
Partially-eclipsed suns are visible among the shadows of leaves under a tree about 30 minutes after totality.

"ECLIPSE ESSENTIALS"
Celebrating the eclipse, Southern Style! LOL! Compliments of Shirley.

"AUG 2017 ECLIPSE artwork"
A digital artwork which I created about two weeks prior to the eclipse.
